Three ways of making art

Martin works in three ways and they feed each other. Photo Alchemy and mixed media are the same workbench, so they share a door. The camera is one tool among them, and it can come in at the start of a work, halfway through, or not at all.

The idea behind the work

Photography, art photography, fine art photography

Pure photography records the world and perfects the moment. Art photography is decorative, made to be lived with. Fine art photography is emotive: it carries an artist's intent and it says something.

All three are worth doing, and Martin does all three. Knowing which one you are making is what changes the work.
