Inspired by a historic painting by Gabriel Max from the 1870s, the work has been reinterpreted through Osner’s artistic process, with the addition of a halo, layered textures, and the inscription INRI—meaning King of the Jews—bringing a renewed sense of reverence and presence to the image.

Unlike traditional depictions, in which the eyes appear to open and close, this interpretation keeps the eyes closed throughout. This reflects a deeper spiritual message—that one of the greatest gifts given to man is free will.
